1975 Suzuki GT-550 - Japanese two-wheeled Chevrolet

The Suzuki 550 caters to a fairly vertical piece of the market, riders who want a machine capable of medium to long distance touring, around town commuting, and relatively mild performance coupled with reliability. There is nothing frivolous or flashy about the workings of the 550 Suzuki. It is a straightforward design, intended to get a rider from A to B with a minimum of hassle, vibration and gear changing. It's the motorcycling equivalent of a Ford or a Chevolet, if you will, and it serves its purpose exactly as it was intended to.

Road Tests: Suzuki GT-550 - Japanese two-wheeled Chevrolet; Moto Morini 3 1/2 - a little Mediterranean sex; Kawasaki Z-1 - the ultimate macho machine; Features: Daytona - almost a storybook ending; Spray Can Painting; The Blown experiment -ever wondered what it's like to own a supercharged machine?; Formula Racing - motorcycles versus cars; How to pick the right kind of service department; more
