1971 Motorcycle Ice Racing in Michigan

Cover: Silhouetted before the evening sun, a sidecar machine crosses a frozen lake in Michigan. At this time of year, ice racing is a favorite sport in the northern states, and some clubs draw as many as five thousand spectators who brave a day of cold to watch the special ice racing machines. Such an event is described on page 29 of this issue. The cover photograph was taken by Paul Wirris, President of the Liberty Motorcycle Club of Farmington, Michigan.
