1954 Canadian Motorcycle Association News - T.T. Special

Cover:

"All racing riders must know that heartbreaking "will it start?" feeling depicted on our cover this month. All spectators will know the suspense of waiting for the first sound from the motor, and will share the agony of a rider left pushing in the solitude left by the forunate starters. In the background of our picture, you will see the famous Isle of Man scoreboard, which is kept up to the moment by a group of Boy Scouts, who place cards on the board, showing the position of every rider.

Number 100 is Ron Hazelhurst (who is at present living in Toronto) pushing his factory 350 Velocette in the 1949 Junior International. In this race he ran out of fuel and was coasting towards the finish. As he began to slow a little on the upward slope of Cronk-ny-Mona, he felt sure he could push faster than he was travelling. He stylishly stood up on the rest, swung his leg over and promptly fell flat on his face. The terrific speed of seven laps had made 30 mph a mere crawling speed to him! However he finished high enough in the results to merit a bronze replica. Number 101 is Albert Moule, of Belgium on a 350 Norton."

On the back Cover there is a nice, vintage Goodyear Motorcycle Tire Ad for the Grasshopper and Super Eagle Rib motorcycle tires.
